About Gateway

Gateway to Learning's mission is to provide lifelong learning to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities that promotes active inclusion at home, at work, and in the community. Located in Chicago’s Lincoln Square, programming focuses on skill acquisition in key life sectors, including: community employment, empowerment and advocacy, and daily living/home life skills. A strong emphasis is placed on vocational training specifically in the culinary arts, with 4 operating kitchens, a bakery, and two social enterprises: Barley’s Biscuits for dogs and Dorothy’s Sweet Shoppe which sells over 30 varieties of cookies and chocolates.

Gateway to Learning is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, EIN 36-2806595. The fair market value of each ticket or equivalent for sponsors is $50. Auction items will indicate their fair market values.
